Cesco has spent over 50 years building mixers for Australian conditions, and we’ve learned that a barrel’s life starts with its steel. We offer two, each chosen for the job it does best.
Hardox
The payload saverPremium wear-resistant steel for operators who count every kilogram. A Hardox barrel cuts tare weight without giving up strength, so you can carry more payload on every load. It comes standard on the Weight $aver and is an option on models such as the Low Rider.

The Pressed Blade System
Proven over decades.
Pressed into every barrel.
The pressed blade system is the heart of every Cesco barrel, and it’s an Australian first. Its design, and the presses that form it, were perfected during the Snowy Mountains Scheme, one of the toughest engineering projects in our nation’s history. Decades on, we still build on that same proven design. Each barrel gets eight precisely shaped blade segments that deliver an accurate pitch and spiral from end to end, giving you a consistent, high-quality mix load after load.

Construction
Quality where it counts.
Even where you can’t see it.
A barrel’s life depends on its seams, its centre band and its welds. After decades of designing mixers for Australian conditions, we know these are the details that keep a barrel in service, so every Cesco barrel is built to our exacting specification.
Joggle-joint seams, submerged arc welded
The barrel sections are joined with joggle-joint seams and finished with submerged arc welds. This construction is considerably stronger than the butt welds commonly used elsewhere, and it has proven itself over years of hard work.
Wear-resistant centre band
A wear-resistant centre band protects the shell where the work, and the wear, is heaviest. That adds years to the barrel’s working life.
High-quality track ring welds
Precise, high-quality welds around the track ring guard against barrel splitting. The barrel stays true on its rollers for the long haul.
Reinforced dished end
The dished end has an internal chamber that double-reinforces the closed end of the barrel, the area that takes some of the heaviest loads.
